Well Development – Keifer Landfill, Sacramento County, CA
Well Development Services – Chemical Rehab & Pump Modifications
Period of Performance: 2024
JREM’s Well Development team completed chemical rehabilitation and pump modifications across multiple extraction wells at Keifer Landfill. Pump depths ranged from 140–180 feet, with varied discharge pipe sizes, including 6-inch galvanized steel on 21-foot sections.
To remove pumps, JHA designed custom elevators and used the Semco 8000 (16,000 lbs. pulling capacity). After removal, the team chemically treated, swabbed, brushed, and bailed the wells to improve flow rates. Pumps were reinstalled using 3-inch trilock PVC, replacing corroded steel, and system plumbing and well heads were updated as needed.

Injection Services – Alameda Point OU-2B, Alameda, CA
Injection – Enhanced In-Situ Bioremediation Services Period of Performance: 2018
JREM was contracted by CB&I Federal Services to perform In-Situ Bioremediation at the Alameda Point OU-2B site in California to treat groundwater contaminated with chlorinated solvents.
Key activities included:
Preparation of anoxic water using sodium sulfite and sodium ascorbate
Controlled injection at ≤10 psi to prevent daylighting and formation damage
Use of customized trailers for simultaneous injection into 10–15 wells
Spill containment, substrate handling, and site mobilization/demobilization
A total of 268,000 gallons of solution was injected. JREM’s expertise in managing shallow groundwater and optimizing injection sequencing was praised by the client.
